The steps involved in making a hand-turned pen.
A beautiful hand-turned pen, made of non-threatened locally-sourced woods or imported woods, will be a treasured gift or souvenir of Bonaire for a lifetime.
For those visitors who are looking for a unique souvenir for either themselves or someone back home, consider a hand-turned pen, made from non-threantened woods, either imported woods from around the world, or local woods from Bonaire. Each and every pen is truly unique, lovingly crafted by a local wood-turner.
The local woods are sourced from garden tree trimmings, so no part of Bonaire’s nature is harmed, and instead of being left to rot, the tree trimmings are instead turned into beautiful gifts that anyone can appreciate. Some of the local woods used are Oliba, Neem, Mesquite, Tamarind, or Sea Grape. Pens of imported woods are also available, including Teak, Zebrawood, Golden Camphor Burl, Padauk, Purvian Nogal, or Aromatic Red Cedar.
InfoBonaire has acquired a limited number of hand-turned pens which can be purchased. All pens are priced at $49.00 and include either a gift box or a velvet pouch pen holder with drawstring. Orders are taken on a first-come, first-served basis, and the pens may be picked up on Bonaire. Sorry, at this time, shipping off island is not available.
