Phase 3 of COVID-19 regulations to begin January 3, 2021.

Due to a spike in the past two days of confirmed cases of COVID-19 (46 active cases as of January 2, 2021), Lt. Governor Edison Rijna announced today that beginning tomorrow, January 3rd, 2021, Bonaire will once again enter Phase 3 of COVID-19 regulations.

What happens during Phase 3 of COVID-19 regulations?

Private gatherings have a maximum of ten (10) persons.

The maximum number of people who can meet in a private setting is ten, not including children under the age of 13. It is recommended that those who are considered vulnerable to the virus stay at home.

Restaurants and bars.

Restaurants and bars and other hospitality venues may operate at 50% capacity with a maximum of 50 persons. There is an obligation to register the contact information of all guests as well as check health status, and all establishments must close by 10:00 PM.

Events.

Events may operate at 50% capacity with a maximum of 50 persons. There is an obligation to register the contact information of all guests. No singing or dancing is allowed.

Supermarkets and other stores selling necessary products.

There is a maximum of 2 persons per family, excluding children under the age of 13. Use of a cart is obligatory.

Stores that are not selling necessary products.

There is a maximum of 2 persons per family, excluding children under the age of 13.

Work.

Work from home as much as possible.

Church services.

Services may operate at 50% capacity, but there is no socializing after the service. There is an obligation to register the contact information of all guests. No singing is allowed.

Sports.

Sports may operate at 50% capacity, but there is no socializing afterward. There is an obligation to register the contact information and check the health status. No spectators are allowed.

Saunas.

Saunas may operate with a maximum of 50% of capacity. There is an obligation to register the contact information of users as well as to check the health status.
