New Bonaire Activities–the latest and greatest experiences for you to enjoy!
It’s that time of year when Bonaire lovers from around the world are planning their next vacation to Bonaire. Since there’s no better time than now to also look into exploring new Bonaire activities while on the island, we’ve provided you with your choice of three, focusing upon adventure, nature, and dining!
New Bonaire Activity #1: Bonaire Landsailing Adventures
With the only dedicated Blokart track in the Caribbean, Bonaire Landsailing Adventures offers one of the best ways to sail on Bonaire, without getting wet!
Landsailing is a fun activity for the entire family. Kids as young as 8 have mastered the Blokart, and those even younger (3 to 8 years) can sail with a parent or guardian. And the best part is that there is no upward age limit. Kids of all ages–including your own inner kid–can have a blast.
Dive clubs can even rent out the track for their own group. Imagine sailing with your friends………and perhaps rivals……..as you whip around the track. That ol’ Blokart grin will be getting bigger and bigger!
A word of caution: During the prime times, the track can get busy. Be sure to make an advance reservation to avoid disappointment.
New Bonaire Activity #2: Bonaire Bird Photography Tours.
Did you know that Bonaire has 235 reported species of birds? While most visitor’s eyes are looking at the waterline, once in awhile, those eyes should roam upward, to the treeline!
Enjoy either a three-hour tour, or a four-hour tour, with a certified bird guide. Excursions can be arranged for visits to the southern half of the island, including the hotspot of Lac Bay, the interior of the island, including Bonaire’s freshwater ponds, or the northern half of the island in Bonaire’s dry forest. Or, customize your own tour!
With a maximum group size of only three persons, you’ll be assured individual attention. You can focus upon your own bird photography, or birdwatch while the guide takes images for you. A digital gallery is then created which you can download.
Tours are by prior appointment only, so if you have an interest in learning about Bonaire’s avian population, do book early.
New Bonaire Activity #3: CHEFS Culinair Bonaire.
Dining has become one of the most-loved activities while on Bonaire, and the hottest new restaurant in the Bonaire culinary world is hands-down CHEFS Culinair Bonaire.
Open only for the past six months, this new dining sensation has taken the island by storm. With the new open kitchen concept, and only 16 guests per night, the experience is akin to going to one of Chefs Han or Mark’s house for dinner.
There are no tables, but instead everyone sits at the comfortable half-circle around the kitchen. The ambiance couldn’t be better, and the discussions around the table each night are lively, convivial, and interesting.
The chefs put dinner together right before your eyes! A five-course meal is planned by Chefs Mark and Han, and one can choose wine-pairing with each course, or not. Vegetarians can be accommodated, but not vegan dining.
Dinners begin promptly at 7:00 PM, with one of the chefs meeting you at the door. After a welcome prosecco, make yourself at home and be prepared to be wowed! Advance reservations are necessary and the restaurant is often booked up, so plan ahead.
