GoGreen is synonymous with healthy, tasty food.
GoGreen is one of Bonaire’s favorite vegetarian eateries and owner Tina Woodley is well known for her Indian Ayurvedic cooking. With Ruby’s Thai cooking added to the mix, the center now offers different cultural aspects, but with one thing in common: All food is fresh, healthy, and where possible, organic.
Lek Lek Thai Popup Restaurant Pops Up at GoGreen Center.
Lek Lek Thai is a pop-up restaurant very popular with Bonaire’s locals, and, over recent years, it has popped up in various locations around the island. Now one can find Ruby and her traditional Thai cooking at Bonaire’s GoGreen Center.
Lek Lek Thai offers vegetarian or vegan options, as well as traditional meals.
The menu changes from week to week and features a three-course dinner for only $18.50 per person. The night we visited, the menu sported Khanon Jeep, which is a Thai version of Dim Sum, with a chicken option, vegetarian option, or vegan option. The second course was Pad Krapao, a stir-fried Thai Basil served with Jasmine Rice. This course also offered chicken, vegetarian, or vegan options.
Ruby asked how much heat we wanted so she could properly prepare the meals for our tastes. Since we were both new to Thai cooking, we decided to opt for the minimum spice, and that was perfect for us. For those who like it hot-hot-hot, or somewhere in between, Ruby is certainly willing and able to accommodate!
A complimentary dessert is served as well. All in all, our first foray into Thai cooking was enjoyable and delicious. For those contemplating trying out Lek Lek Thai, check out their Facebook page which always lists the current menus.
The food is traditional, with much imported directly from Thailand.
Ruby chatted with us before she got busy cooking for a full house. She explained that the majority of her ingredients–in fact, all, except for the Thai Basil–are flown in directly from Thailand. This ensures the best flavors, as stored spices and herbs just lose their flavor over time. The Thai Basil she uses is too fragile to make the long flight from Thailand, so that is sourced locally and Ruby works directly with the grower to get the exact flavors she wants. Since our dinner the evening we visited featured Thai Basil, I can attest to the delicious zest of this savory herb.
When and Where to find Lek Lek Thai.

Don’t forget GoGreen’s own vegetarian meals the rest of the week.
If you can’t get to GoGreen for Ruby’s Thai cooking, do try to sample Tina Woodley’s Ayurvedic vegetarian cooking. Tina serves lunch at GoGreen Center Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 PM, and her very popular Friday night dinner from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
