Joan Zale, a frequent Bonaire visitor for many years, reaches a milestone dive at her favorite dive site, Bari Reef, here on Bonaire.
Joan extends her thanks to her original dive instructor, Mr. Gary Howe, who certified her as an Open Water Diver a little more than 25 years ago. This was a wonderful blessing to receive, as diving has enriched the lives of Joan and her husband, Alan, as they have enjoyed their dives together for so many years.
Joan’s dive yesterday was perfect! Taking place at her favorite house reef, Bari Reef at Sand Dollar Resort Condominiums, she was joined by Alan, but also with friends and dive buddies, Steve, Phil, and Sherry. After a period of rather rainy weather, the sun came out and shone on Joan as she executed her giant stride off the dock and into Bonaire’s welcoming waters. A friendly octopus also put in an appearance during the dive, just to add “the cherry to the top of the sundae.”
Bonaire Insider readers are also familiar with husband Alan Zale, who is well known for his award-winning underwater photography. Alan also reached his milestone 600th dive in 2017, during their summer visit to Bonaire.
Congratulations to Joan! We hope you enjoy hundreds of fantastic Bonaire dives in the future!
