This month’s Nos Zjilea will focus upon the theme “Sustainable Neighborhood Development as a Blue Destination.” How can we apply the Blue Destination concept in our neighborhoods?
According to Mr. Nolly Oleana from the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, we should be more proud of Bonaire, our story and history. Come and listen to his enthusiastic ideas about how everyone can do more. Bonaire’s nature on land and underwater is very diverse. In addition to planting trees, Mrs. Julianka Clarenda of the Echo Foundation is also one of the volunteers who keeps the tourist routes in Rincon clean. She will give practical tips on how everyone can contribute to keeping the environment in the neighborhood livable.
Visitors always want to get to know Bonaire better and have different experiences during their stay on our island. Entrepreneurs in the neighborhood can respond to this with unique regional products. The Chamber of Commerce is investigating how the exhibitors involved with the Cultural Park Mangazina di Rei, along with other entrepreneurs involved in tourism, can be supported in this and Mr. Danilo Christiaan from Mangazina di Rei will provide more information. As the project manager of Blue Destination for the Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Maurice Adriaens will provide concrete examples of how the Blue Destination concept can also make progress in Bonaire’s neighborhoods.
As always, there will be various market stalls with local, fresh products, art, and local dishes. The kitchen opens at 10 a.m. with the possibility to sample various local dishes during the afternoon. Enjoy all this in a cozy atmosphere with live performances by Mr. Charlton Thomas and the local band FMK.
