Bonaire becomes a Code Yellow destination.

In a brief report, Bonaire’s Lt. Governor Edison Rijna advised that Bonaire will receive Code Yellow status, based on the information he received.

Because Bonaire has cases of COVID-19 well under control, Lt Governor Rijna submitted a request to the Netherlands two weeks ago, asking that they designate Bonaire as Code Yellow once again.

The request took some time for a response, notably because the Netherlands first wanted to look at the situation of all islands in the Kingdom. Since this consultation with all islands took much longer than expected, the State Department will change the code today for Bonaire.

More information will be forthcoming shortly.
