Spending Valentine’s Day on Bonaire? Here are some of the best ways to romance your dushi!
With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, it is time to make your plans to romance your dushi (“sweetheart” in Papiamentu) for next Wednesday, February 14th!
Begin this special evening with a toast to the sun.
Watching the sunset is a time-honored tradition on Bonaire with spectacular sunsets from a multitude of points on the leeward coast. If you really want to wow your sweetheart, find one of the island’s most romantic of spots, and prepare a bottle of chilled wine or prosecco to toast the sun as it sinks into the Caribbean Sea.
The golden hour is very special on Bonaire and the afterglow can be filled with amazing colors in the sky, usually painting the sky pink, lavender, orange, or purple about 15 minutes after sunset. The sun is setting about 6:40 PM these days, so plan to be in your specially chosen spot no later than 6:15 PM. Remember to wait for the afterglow, until about 7:00 PM, when darkness will take over.
Then it’s time for a special dining treat.
Many of Bonaire’s restaurants have put together scrumptious special menus, and here are some of my favorite restaurant’s offerings.
Bon Aroma is one of Bonaire’s most romantic fine dining establishments, with just a handful of tables, ensuring individual attention.
Following a tradition started last year, Bon Aroma is celebrating love the entire Valentine’s week, from February 13th through 17th, 2018. On Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, or Saturday, you may enjoy the special Valentine’s Day menu, or order à la carte off the regular menu. On Wednesday, February 14th, only the special Valentine’s Day menu is offered, with every course being served on one plate–ensuring intimacy and romance as you share the plate with your dushi!
The special menu includes a welcome drink of romantic bubbles, and then enjoy the following shared items:
? Starter–Ostrich Carpaccio with Truffle Oil, Soup, Fish
? Main Course–LOVE Surf & Turf
? Dessert–Nougat Glacé & Chocolate Mousse
The price of the Sharing Valentine’s Day menu is $45 per person. Click the button below to request a reservation via Bon Aroma’s Facebook page, or telephone the restaurant at +599 795 9009.
It Rains Fishes, known for their freshest seafood, romantically located right on the oceanfront promenade.

RumRunners, for a local touch!

Sebastian’s Restaurant, where love is in the air.
Sitting directly on the oceanside, any table at Sebastian’s is a love-affair with the sea, but on Valentine’s Day, those dining here can mingle their own love affair with that of the sea!
The popular restaurant is offering a special four-course menu, or you may elect to order à la carte from their new menu.
The four-course Valentine’s Day menu is $65.00 per person. Advance reservations are always recommended, and you may click the button below or telephone the restaurant at +(599) 717-1697 or +(599) 701-1697.
Those who wait, dine late!
