Samur Sailing Charters, incorporated as SAMUR N.V. in the Netherlands Antilles, is presently for sale after a successful 14+ years of charter operations on the Dutch Caribbean island of Bonaire. This turn-key charter operation has gained a reputation as Bonaire's premiere yacht charter company and has garnered an impressive client satisfaction rate during its existence.

The Samur is a one of a kind vessel. An authentic Siamese Sailing Junk built in Bangkok, Thailand in 1968, she is built by hand from the highest quality oriental hardwoods, with a carved dragon figurehead and carved panels on her exterior and adorned with Thai antiquities below deck. With a capacity of 45 passengers, her wide decks and stable characteristics allow passengers a safe and comfortable cruise. She is 56' long, 16' wide and has a 6' draft. She is also equipped with a Perkins 135 hp diesel for power.

Current owners are Richard and Ann Louise Tuke, who operated SAMUR as a charter vessel on Bonaire since 1990 (and owned her since 1982), and have built her into an icon of Bonaire's tourism during a crucial time in Bonaire's development. They have returned to the states for the benefit of their daughter, who is attending high school and university in the years ahead. Tourism is the pillar of Bonaire's economy, and the future is bright with many new positive developments such as additional airlift from the US and Europe, and many new hotel, restaurant, cruise and other tourism developments emerging on Bonaire.
